The Bat! is an excellent, full-featured email client. The authors have obviously done their homework, examined other major mail clients, selected the best features from each, and added some additional options. The Bat! uses the familiar Explorer-style interface to handle your mail, making the switch from another client almost effortless. It features support for multiple email accounts, multilanguage support, an address book, and easy folder management and lets you check message headers quickly without downloading complete messages. You'll also find very useful templates for messages and replies -- a simple, easy-to-learn set of macros allows you to include a great deal of often-used information, saving lots of repetitive typing. The Bat! also features a quick way to add messages to a filter so that you don't see unwanted messages. All told, The Bat! is similar enough to other email clients that changing to it will be no problem, and it's special features will make you glad you did. Reviewed on Mar 2 1998. |
